Writer's Workshop

I believe in teaching writing through good reading instruction and read alouds. Anytime we read about book we talk about the things that they author did that were unique or inspired us. We talk about the authors purpose for writing every book we read together and we compare similar stories or stories that were written by the same author.

I model good writing in my classroom because I believe that is the best way to grow good writers. We write in our journals daily, and the students choose which journals inspire them to take all the way through the writing process to publication.

In my classroom, we are all authors.
